FAQs

  • The programme is designed for growth-minded businesses in Tamworth.

    • This means businesses with ambition and the potential to scale operations, enter new markets, or create jobs.

    • Established businesses with 5+ employees.

    • Your business needs to be registered in Tamworth Borough Council. Use this eligibility checker if you’re unsure.

  • What am I committing to if I join?

    By joining, you’re committing to:

    • Attending five workshops (about half a day each).

    • Taking part in 1-to-1 coaching and mentoring sessions.

    • Preparing and presenting at the Investor Event and staying engaged for reporting afterwards.

We know you’re busy running your business, so the time commitment is designed to be manageable — typically around half a day a week plus some preparation and work around coaching. In return, you’ll leave with practical outputs (pitch deck, financial plan, investor strategy) and direct exposure to funders.

  • Workshops will be held in Tamworth, at accessible venues such as the Library or local enterprise hubs. Full details, including directions, parking and public transport options, will be sent to you before the programme starts. Some elements (like 1-to-1 coaching) will be run online to make it easier to fit around your schedule.

  • We know business life is busy. If you can’t attend one session, we will support via:

    • 1-to-1 coaching session to catch up.

    • We encourage you to attend as many as possible, especially the Investor Event, which is the programme highlight.

    • If you miss more than one session, you may have to join the second cohort.

  • The programme is fully funded by Tamworth Borough Council through UKSPF.

    • There is no cost to participants.

    • In return, we expect commitment: attending workshops, engaging in coaching, and taking part in the investor event.

  • Yes. All information you share is treated as confidential. We only collect the essential details needed to support you and to report anonymised results back to the Council. Any sensitive business or financial data you provide will be stored securely in line with GDPR requirements.

  • No — funding can never be guaranteed. What the programme does is maximise your chances of success by:

    • Helping you create a professional investment pitch deck and clear financial projections.

    • Introducing you to a pool of relevant investors and funders (including angels, Innovate UK, British Business Bank, and local/regional funds).

    • Giving you practical coaching on how to engage with investors beyond the programme.

  • Most businesses attend with a main representative (usually the founder, owner or senior decision-maker).

    • If you have a co-founder, finance lead, or someone who plays a key role in growth, please encourage them to join

    • We’ll ask you to confirm attendees before the programme begins.
